- Intro
Hui Gwan : We will go to electricity museum from now on.
One, two,
three go!!
Jae hyeok : Where are we?
Hui Gwan : I did a mistake and teleport us another place.
Min Hyuk : Oh! Look over there.
Na Young : Let’s go
- At museum
Jae hyeok
: We arrived at here. Here is electric
museum. From now on we are going to look around this museum. Each person is
going to explain this museum each part
Part 1.
History of electric energy
Won Hyeok
: The name of this corner is
history of electric energy. This corner shows chronology of the birth and
development of electric energy. It is watt's steam engine it is famous for its
driving force of the Industrial Revolution. It is the first power generation
facility in Korea. As shown this is a scale model. It is the first public
transport - electric train. In 1899 the 동대문 power plant supplied electric
energy for electric train
Part2.
Extension of electricity
Na Young : In
1930s, there were large bodies of water in North. Korea. So, there were 21
hydroelectric power generations around river. Above all, ‘soopoong’
hydroelectric power generation that length is 900m along the Amnokgang(Amnok
river) is famous for large scale generation of electricity. The scale is that
long time ago, it could transmit electric power to South Korea. It is very
amazing thing!
Now, I will introduce how power can be
transmitted to our home. First, voltage is increased at hydroelectric power
generation and sent to substation. And then voltage is also sent to pole
transformer from substation. Let’s look at it! This is pole transformer in
1930s. Finally, voltage is decreased and sent to our home. So we can use
electricity. Thank you!
Part3. Electricity in our life
Min Hyuk : Electricity, one of the most important things in
our lives has been changed our life a lot. Telecommunication and radio
broadcasting using the electricity have been an remarkable progress.
Telecommunication has commercialized at 1890s by physicist, inventing a
telegraphic instrument and a telephone using electricity. It was not until
1920s by the invention of ‘A vacuum tube radio’ the road of radio broadcasting
has opened widely.
In this section you can
see many kinds of electricity devices. And here you will see familiar things
such as movie projector, Korean typing machine and electricity calculator.
Gramophone which Korean
name is Chuck-Um-Ki, remembers the person’s voice and repeat it exactly the
same. Edison the inventor of thins machine has installed his own company but
unfortunately it couldn’t have been progressed because of the other inventions.
You can see that other inventions in this area. Here are hair curling iron,
waffle maker, toaster and there are many kinds of tea pots.
Electricity has come
deeply into our life and allow us to have convenient life.
Part4.
The development process of lighting
Hui Gwan
: Hi, This place is about the electric
light brightening over the Korea. We can see the development progress of
lighting in this place. From instruments before people used the electricity to
modern light like the bulb. There are so many things people used to lightening
the dark.
Let's
check what they are. First, This is flint. Ancient people used this flint to
lightening the dark. If you smash these
stones each other, it makes a spark and the spark makes a fire. Ancient people
used a fire as a lig.ht
After then
people used candle and lamp. For example, this is Ho-Long in Korean, people
used this Ho-Long when they worked or studied in the room, at night. and this
is Nam-Po-Deung. and it was usually used in 1960s and people used Nam-Po-Deung
for moving in the dark.
These are
initial bulbs. As you know, Edison invented the bulb. First time, he used
carbon to make filament. But now, we use tungsten or nickel to make filament.
Because its durability is better than carbon. And this is the initial
flashlight. As you look at it, It is too big. The Flashlight have become
smaller and smaller. Now we use more portable flash light.
In our
daily life, there are so many bulbs for so many purpose. For example, this is
for car, this is for Christmas tree, this is for electric test, this is for
train. Until now, we checked the development progress of light. We can lighten
the dark easily now. But I wish we should not forget the day we were hard to
lighten the dark. And we can recognize the minor thing's importance. Thank you.
Part5. Electricmagnetic and
Electric power plant
Jae
hyeok : Hi guys. Here is electromagnetic part.
Take look at here. We
can see many stuffs and many buttons here. We can know what kind of magnetic
waves are made by them. Let me try this, I will push this button and let’s
check it. We can check how much waves are made by here. Microwave is 20 and
mixer is 30 and here is another 3stuffs hairdryer is 70, the biggest one and
here is last three. Push it again. Yes 20, 30 and 10.
Come this way.
This part is about power
plant. Unfortunately here is no nuclear generation power plant. But here is
thermoelectric power plan, hydroelectric power plant and water pumping power
plant. I think most of you guys already know what is hydroelectric and what is
thermoelectric so I will explain briefly what is water pumping power plant.
Look at here, you can
see blue circles. At first it follows this way but next it changes flow
direction. At night people don’t’ use much electricity so there must be surplus
electricity and we can use them when we pull up the water higher and then next
day we can use the water when we make electricity that’s how water pumping power
plant is working.
And here is another
funny thing. This is quiz machine. Touch the screen first and then touch a
circle. It looks like each circle is a quiz. You can check what you know here.
Thank you guys. I will
finish now.
I really think this place
is pretty good. If you have the time to visit here, come here. Here is
interesting than what I expected. Bye~
- After watching
Hui Gwan :
Now, we will finish our project and we will go to home and have dinner.
Everybody : Bye~
Thank you for watching and reading!
